 Jalen Rudd, a member of last season's 9u Boys Team RED, is demonstrating what a student athlete is all about. Jalen is in the 4th grade at Pates Creek Elementary School in Henry County. He is currently carrying a 3.4 GPA. His favorite subject is Social Studies in which he has a 94% average.
Jalen likes playing basketball and was a key player for Coach KJ James on his Atlanta Select team that won numerous trophies last season. He is looking forward toward playing on the 10u Boys Team RED for the 2010/11 season. One day he would like to play in the NBA.
His parents, Mr. Lamar & Mrs. Stephanie Rudd, can be justifiably proud of him for his accomplishments to date. Atlanta Select Salutes Jalen.

We are going to start tryouts for our 2011 Season. Here is our tentative schedule and locations for any individuals interested or up to the challenge of being a Atlanta Select Silver 17U / 18U.  The Mighty 17u Boys Team SILVER held its "End of Season" banquet on Saturday, October 2. 2010 at the Rangler's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que in Jonesboro, Georgia. Coaches Payton and Paige recognized the team for their outstanding performances in the classroom, community actions projects and on the basketball court. This team thoroughly represented the the pillars of the organization of Education, Life Skills and Sports.
Christopher D. Floyd was highlighted as the player with the highest GPA - 3.9. He is a senior at Cedar Grove HS, taking AP courses, Navy ROTC, a member of the National Honor Society, like reading and fishing and looking closely in attending the University of Georgia or Middle Tennessee University.
Chwaquaris Jones was highlighted as the MVP of the team and lead the team in scoring. He is a senior at Mundy Mills HS with a GPA of 3.5. He is being recruited based on his academic record by Duke University, Ohio State University, North Carolina A & T, Savannah State, Georgia State and High Point College.
Montel Gaitor was highlighted as the best defensive player. He is a senior at Lovejoy HS with a GPA of 3.0. He has received basketball recruitment letters to Virginia State, Virginia Tech and Clayton State plus several others.
DaShun Robinson was named best rebounder. He is a senior at Lovejoy HS with a GPA of 3.0. He has received recruitment letters from Seton Hall, North Carolina and Tennessee State universities.
Atlanta Select Salutes all members of the 17u Boys SILVER team and commend their coaches for enforcing the principles of Education, Life Skills and Sports. Go Select.
