The first trophies were awarded to the Georgia Chargers Gold and Yellow Teams. These two teams finished one and two after Pool Play and elected not to face each other in the Championship game. Thus, The Gold Team was selected as Champs and the Yellow Team as Runner-ups. However, we recognize both teams as Champions because they represented their organization with both class and style . Our sincere congratulations to these champions.
The Georgia Chargers are a relatively new organization based primarily in Henry County. The Chargers and the Select share some of the same goals and aspirations as we attempt to serve the young people in our communities. The Chargers are under the direction of Coach Cliff Galloway who stands below with the MVP in the Eleventh Grade Division at the Tournament.
The MVP is Montrez Metts, an eleventh grader from Dutchtown High School. He has a 3.0 GPA, favorite subject is Math and his hobby is playing basketball with his teammates. It is a fact that Montrez represents the Georgia Chargers extremely well on and off the court. Congratulations to Mr. Metts.

The Atlanta Select would like to thank the Georgia Chargers for their participation in the Select Few tournament. They provided a total of five teams, two in the Eighth Grade Division, one In the Ninth and two in the Eleventh. All of them did well. We want to thanks the families, friends and fans of the Chargers who followed and cheered for their teams. They too were a class act. We hope to see the players and their followers again soon.
